Liverpool City Region Health and Social Care Project

  • Working across the Liverpool City Region, specialist Employment Officers will work in partnership with Job Centre Plus to support both employers to fill their vacancies by bridging skills gaps through sector training and with individuals wanting to make a difference & take the opportunity of a rewarding career in care.

  • Opportunities

    Awareness Workshops

    The delivery of both face to face and virtual workshops to make customers aware of what it is like to work in the care sector. Who receives care and the varied job roles required to support them. Over 30 different care roles and many more ancillary roles.


     


    Transferable Skills

    Matching the values and behaviours required by employers to individuals wanting to work in Care.


    It’s a great job. Are you a good fit?  Transferable skills you may have gained from working in a range of backgrounds e.g. the military, hospitality or retail.


     


    Identifying Skills

    Identifying skills gaps for each customer based on their sector knowledge. People from all kinds of backgrounds have the right skills to work in social care. Lived experience, fresh ideas.


     


    Creating Links

    Creating links with employers with vacancies to understand the skills they require within their workforce and to support individuals through the recruitment process.


     


    Training & Routeways

    Working with local training providers to design and deliver bespoke training programmes based on employer needs. Providing a One Stop signposting service for all pre-employment and skills training being delivered across Liverpool City Region.


     


    Job Brokerage

    Providing intensive matching and job brokerage to employers in the Health & Social care sector. Supporting employers to access additional skills funding and marketing job opportunities to a wider more diverse workforce.


     


    The service will align with existing employer engagement teams across the LCR to co-ordinate activity and to best support participants into employment.

  • This programme is funded by the Department for Work & Pensions. Please note that customers must be aged 18 or over in order to access support.

    • Aged 18+. Has their Right to Work Documents.
    • The individual is willing to participate in the programme on a voluntary basis and has agreed to their details being shared with the LCR Care Service and the Department for Work and Pensions.
    • The individual resides in the Liverpool City Region i.e. Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, Liverpool & Wirral.
