The Good Business Festival announces new format and event partners

The Good Business Festival, has announced further details of its new format with partners, content and ambassadors unveiled for the first time.

The event, which focuses on showcasing, promoting and encouraging ethical business, was due to take place in autumn 2020 but has adapted its format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Good Business Festival will now be a two-part event, with a one day digital event confirmed for October 8th this year and a full-scale three day event to follow in March 2021.

The event in October will bring delegates together remotely from across industries and around the world to share knowledge and explore opportunities to build a greener and fairer economy for the future.

In March, one year on from lockdown, the second part of the event will be to present the festival in its original vision: an imaginative mix of arts, culture and business.

Taking place across three days, the Good Business Festival’s lively and engaging programme of panel discussions, workshops, knowledge sessions, fringe events and social experiences will be held at a variety of venues across the Liverpool City Region.

The first wave of festival partners and ambassadors have also been confirmed – with organisations including ARUP, Mastercard and Liverpool FC all on-board.

The Good Business Festival is a two-part event commissioned by the Metro Mayor and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, which will focus on showcasing, promoting and encouraging ethical business.

Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region said: “The Coronavirus crisis has given us the opportunity to think about the kind of world we want to live in and there can be no return to business as usual.

“In the Liverpool City Region we’re looking to build the UK’s fairest, greenest and most inclusive local economy, with a particular focus on inclusive growth and community wealth building. That means ensuring that local communities really feel the benefit from investment, with good-quality jobs and fair wages.

“We’ll need to do things differently, and the Good Business Festival is a fantastic way to showcase our region as a radical leader for ethical, values-driven businesses. I look forward to sharing ideas both on-line and then together in person about how we can be an exemplar to build back better with business as we start to recover.”
