Mayor of the Liverpool City Region comments on Liverpool FC victory parade plans
Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, said:
“Regardless of results the rest of the way, this season’s Liverpool squad will go down as one of the greatest football teams of all time. Of course, I’ll have everything crossed that they are able to complete a historic quadruple. And we can’t forget about the Liverpool Women’s team, who have stormed to the Women’s Championship at the first time of asking.
“It’s only right that fans are given the opportunity to properly celebrate – especially given that the pandemic meant that we weren’t able to come together and celebrate that memorable Premier League win. I’m sure many, many thousands of fans will want to join us in applauding Jürgen and the whole club’s achievements this year – and hopefully we’ll have plenty more to celebrate!
“We expect the parade will extremely popular so Merseytravel will be putting in place suitable arrangements to help manage demand and ensure the wider transport network can continue to function. Further details will be shared early next week, so please check the latest guidance before making plans.”
