Latest model electric vehicles and cutting-edge EV innovations will be showcased at a special event on Liverpool’s famous waterfront in just 10 days’ time.
Part of Liverpool City Region’s Innovation Investment Fortnight, the Power Up! Electric Vehicle Event will give visitors the opportunity to test drive electric cars from top manufacturers and speak to industry experts about the latest technology and future developments.

The free event at the Museum of Liverpool on Friday 16 May is being organised by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in collaboration with Liverpool City Council and is open to individuals and businesses.
It will showcase the future of Liverpool City Region transportation with a focus on electric vehicles (EVs), and how the Combined Authority is preparing for the electric revolution.

This is a fantastic opportunity to explore how the future of transport is evolving and how electric vehicles play a key role in reducing our carbon footprint.
Alongside this, there will be the opportunity to test drive many of the latest EVs, including the brand-new Renault 5 and Ford Puma Gen-E. It will also be a one of the first chances to see forthcoming EVs such as the Alpine A290 on display.
Whether you’re a long-time EV enthusiast or simply curious about the benefits of making the switch, this event will provide valuable insights, practical advice, and the chance to experience cutting-edge electric technology firsthand.
Cllr Steve Foulkes, Chair of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee, said:
“Power Up! is an important step in showing the public how electric vehicles can benefit both the environment and the economy and we are incredibly excited to host this event in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.
“By bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and local residents, we hope to inspire even more people to make the switch to electric mobility and help us build a greener future for Liverpool.”
Councillor Liam Robinson, Leader of Liverpool City Council will be giving the welcome address and providing first-hand experience of electric vehicle ownership.
He said:
“As a city, Liverpool is at the forefront of the revolution that is moving us away from burning fossil fuels. So, naturally, we are delighted to support this fantastic event which can showcase to the public the advantages of going electric.
“Liverpool will have nearly 700 streetlamp EV chargers by the end of the year – making this city one of the best places for electric car owners and spearheading our drive to net zero.”
