Back-to-nature company set to expand as Liverpool City Region helps it stave off COVID-19 threat
Birkenhead’s GROW-Wellbeing works with Kindred to provide education and wellbeing support in a natural, outdoor environment
A community company which takes people back to nature to improve education and wellbeing, had its work halted by COVID-19.
But now, thanks to support from Kindred and Liverpool City Region, it can plan for expansion as Lockdown eases.
Birkenhead-based GROW–Wellbeing works with children, schools, communities and disadvantaged people, using natural settings for learning.
Programme Director Duane Chong said: ‘’We welcome this support which will help us to expand our services to provide more connection with nature for many people.
‘’After conversations with Kindred I realised we could do more to help those finding it difficult during these challenging times.
The expansion will mean more opportunities for children to do
forest learning, creative arts, storytelling, nature studies, outdoor adventures, games, and eco-therapy.
The not-for-profit organisation is committed to developing resilient young people who are, in turn, committed to taking care of the natural environment in the future.
