Our society is ageing. The number of people aged 65 and over is set to rise by 40% over the next 20 years. This change will create new demands for technologies, products and services.
The Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram is committed to making our region the best place to age in the UK.
In May 2020 Liverpool City Region Combined Authority joined the UK Network of Age Friendly Communities. You can read the Metro Mayor’s Letter of Commitment here.
We have since joined the World Health Organisation network of Age Friendly Communities and are currently developing our baseline assessment of ageing in the city region.
How you can get involved
We want the people of the city region to get involved in shaping the policies that affect their future. The ‘Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Network 55+’ is a new online group for residents who would like to help us make the city region a better place to age. You choose how much you want to get involved and you can opt out at any time.
