Promoting inclusion and developing skills are at the heart of what we do. Improving digital inclusion is one of the Combined Authority’s key priorities, and we are more than halfway to our ambitious target of getting 10,000 people online by 2028. We are also tackling loneliness, and reusing devices that would have otherwise ended up in landfills. Our pioneering Digital Inclusion Programme has now provided more than 5,200 digitally excluded residents with a free tablet, connectivity and training, and we are one of the first organisations in the country to sign a new Government charter aimed at tackling digital exclusion this way.
