Steve Rotheram has been elected as the Mayor of the Liverpool City Region for a third term following this year’s election.
Voters across the region went to the polls on Thursday 2 May, with the vote count taking place at Wavertree Tennis Centre on Saturday 4 May.
Speaking at the count, Mayor Rotheram said:
“We want to concentrate on the things that are really important to people right the way across the Liverpool City Region.
“We want to attract people to come to the region, it should be the go to place.
“I’ll do everything I can to ensure our economy grows year on year.”
The results from the final vote count are as follows:
Steve Rotheram (Labour) – 183,932
Jade Marsden (Conservative) – 27,708
Tom Crone (Green) – 26,417
Rob McAllister-Bell (Liberal Democrats) – 21,366
Ian Smith (Independent) – 11,032
