• Claire Blott appointed as Director of Employment, Skills and Inclusion

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has appointed Claire Blott as its new Director of Employment, Skills and Inclusion.
Claire will take up the role on Monday 1 June, following four years as Assistant Director of Policy and Strategy at the Combined Authority, where she led on major strategy, policy and commissioning programmes.
Claire has played a key role in shaping the City Region’s approach to inclusive economic growth, including supporting the early devolution of the Adult Education Budget and leading the development of the Liverpool City Region’s 10-year Local Growth Plan.
In her new position, Claire will oversee the Combined Authority’s Skills and Careers, and Employment Support and Inclusion programmes.
With a career spanning senior roles in regional and central government, including at the Skills Funding Agency and the National Apprenticeship Service, Claire brings extensive experience of driving large-scale programmes, shaping policy, and building strong partnerships across public, private and community sectors.
Passionate about creating opportunities and improving people’s lives, Claire is looking forward to leading on Employment, Skills and Inclusion, ensuring that everyone in the Liverpool City Region can access good work, lifelong learning and the support they need to thrive.
