Here are the various ways you can help us!
METRO MAYOR’S YOUNG PERSONS ADVISORY COUNCIL: This is a diverse group of 25 young people from right across the City Region which meets 6 times a year and serves as a crucial sounding board for the Metro Mayor. We’ll also ensure there are plenty development opportunities for members of the group to develop their skills. Each time you attend, you’ll receive a £10 gift card as a reward and we’ll ensure that any public transport costs are covered.
FOCUS GROUPS: If attending a forum on a regular basis isn’t for you, why not to agree to be invited to attend one-off focus groups where we ask for your opinions on big developments and issues.
PROJECT DELIVERY GROUPS: Be part of making things happen. As a member of a project delivery group, you’ll provide advice and input at different stages of a particular project. Your city region needs you!
SURVEYS: Commit to completing 4 short surveys each year on some of the big issues and projects we’re working on.
WHAT IS THE LIVERPOOL CITY REGION COMBINED AUTHORITY?
It’s made up of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral and these areas, under the leadership of Metro Mayor, Steve Rotherham, are working together to tackle important issues such as transport, housing, jobs and skills, the environment and culture.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
Well, the big decisions affecting you will be made much closer to home now instead of in London, which is great! Local politicians have a much greater understanding of the needs of our area and it means that you have a greater opportunity to help shape and influence the decisions they take.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE YOUNG PERSONS’ ADVISORY GROUP AND THE YOUNG PERSONS’ COUNCIL?
Well the Young Persons’ Advisory Group is made up of any young person who would like to work and advise the Combined Authority, either by completing surveys every so often, attending one-off events like focus groups or by being part of the Young Persons’ Advisory Forum.
The Advisory Council is a group of 25 young people who have committed to attending at least 6, more formal sessions each year. There will be a series of meetings which look at a particular theme. E.g. In one of the first sessions, we’ll be looking at how the City Region should develop, asking for your views on what’s important for you. There will be a programme of activities that will allow you to develop new skills and also have fun at the same time!
WHAT DO I GET OUT OF BEING PART OF THE YOUNG PERSONS’ ADVISORY GROUP?
