Following recent staff changes, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the small friendly Infrastructure Development and Delivery Team within the Asset Management Service Area of Merseytravel.
Reporting to the Principal Officer, Infrastructure Development and Delivery, this post holder will be responsible for leading on the design of transport related projects for client departments within Merseytravel and the Combined Authority.
Projects will be predominantly (but not exclusively) highway and traffic related in nature with an emphasis on bus travel.
The postholder will also assist with the delivery of the bus capital programme including on-street civil engineering works, technical drawing and quantity surveying. The post holder will also get involved in the delivery of the Green Bus Routes programme, assisting in the design of new and/or improved bus stations, accessibility improvement projects, Bus Reform and non-bus related projects including highways aspects of rail projects and walking & cycling schemes.
During an exciting time for the City Region, at a time of unprecedented change driven by the ongoing pandemic, climate emergency and the ongoing devolution agenda, there is a need to deliver a range of infrastructure projects to support the City Region as it ‘Builds Back Better’ and through this role you will be in a position to get involved and help deliver that meaningful change. This role should suit someone with traffic and highway engineering experience, with an eye for finding deliverable solutions.
