We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join the Legal, Democratic Services and Procurement team, where you will lead in the procurement activities for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Merseytravel.
We are looking for an enthusiastic proactive and dynamic strategic procurement lead. We are looking for a candidate with experience and a proven track record of achievement in commissioning and procurement. You must be able to demonstrate significant relevant experience and be committed to share knowledge, developing others and providing clear direction to others. You will have worked at a senior level within your current and/or former roles.
You must be able to adopt a strategic and an operational view with the ability to develop strategies and policies and to translate them into tangible actions to deliver the desired outcomes. You will have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate others within a culture of proactive service delivery and continuous improvement. You must be able to negotiate, influence and generate confidence, trust and respect, deliver under pressure by prioritising work against competing demands to meet (often challenging) deadlines.
You will have a thorough appreciation and working knowledge of Public Procurement legislation together with familiarity with Public Procurement Policy Notes and Guidance issued by the Crown Commercial Service.
You will be educated to degree level and preferably be CIPS qualified and have a leadership/management qualification.
