Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) declared a Climate Emergency in May 2019 and were one of the first in the country to adopt a Zero Carbon target by 2040 – 10 years ahead of the national target. LCRCA is already making great progress and the Mersey Tidal Power Project is a key priority for the Metro Mayor and CA in making net zero carbon happen.

Mersey Tidal Power is a nationally significant project with the potential to have a game-changing influence on the UK renewable energy sector and we are building a team of energy, engineering and environmental specialists to drive forward the next phase of the project. The early options appraisal and business case work has shown that the project is technically viable and should progress onto more detailed development and selection of a preferred option.

The team will be responsible for developing a full options appraisal to a preferred option planning including hydrodynamic modelling, environmental appraisal, marine civil and mechanical and electrical design. This stage of the project will be crucial to the success and continuation of the project, so we are looking for a team of exceptional quality to deliver it.

We are seeking a candidate who has the energy, passion and experience to manage this national energy project. The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Director to develop and manage a team of specialists in delivering this phase as well as forging collaborative relationships with contractors, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure key milestones of the project are achieved in time and on budget.
