Job Description:

Do you want to work in a fast-paced environment?
Do you relish a challenge?
Do you want to be at the forefront of tackling the Climate Emergency?

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) declared a Climate Emergency in May 2019 and were one of the first in the country to adopt a Zero Carbon target by 2040 – 10 years ahead of the national target. The LCRCA is already making great progress and the Mersey Tidal Power Project is a key priority for the Metro Mayor and LCRCA in making net zero carbon happen.

Mersey Tidal Power is a nationally significant project with the potential to have a game-changing influence on the UK renewable energy sector and we are building a team of energy, engineering and environmental specialists to drive forward the next phase of the project. The early options appraisal and business case work has shown that the project is technically viable and should progress onto more detailed development and selection of a preferred option.

The team will be responsible for developing a full options appraisal to a preferred option for DCO submission including hydrodynamic modelling, environmental appraisal, marine civil and mechanical and electrical design. This stage of the project will be crucial to the success and continuation of the project, so we are looking for a team of exceptional quality to deliver it.

We are seeking a candidate who has the energy, passion and experience to lead the team, manage external suppliers and influence Government and key national stakeholders to promote Tidal Power as a viable alternative to other renewable energy sources at all levels of these organisations.

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is an action-focused organisation with a flexible working environment where everyone is respected and supported to put their skills to best use in delivering the best results possible for the Liverpool City Region, our primary focus.

If you have significant experience in development and delivery of large, nationally significant infrastructure projects in a renewable energy or related sector we would like to hear from you.

If you would like to apply for this role and are up for a challenge please send your CV and a covering letter to recruitment@liverpoolcityregion-ca.gov.uk

Covering letter should include your salary expectations.

Closing date is – Thursday 12th March 9am

Interview date will be – 24th March 2020

Candidates will be required to pre-prepare a presentation for interview and interviews will be held in London.
