Liverpool City Region Combined Authority have received Grant funding from the NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Workforce Programme Board, initially for 12-18 months, to deliver a careers and skills engagement programme across the Liverpool City Region for the NHS and wider Health and Care workforce. Located within the Employment and Skills team and working closely with the Skills Brokers and the Skills and Apprenticeship Hub team, the post holder will focus on delivering the principal outcomes of the grant funding (see job description).
The post holder will support individuals to access employment and apprenticeship opportunities in the NHS and wider Health and Social Care Sector, and to inform and inspire young people about the numerous career opportunities on offer in the sector. In addition, we would like the post-holder to work closely with HR Directors and Directors of Nursing, where appropriate, to discuss and assess their current skills needs and pressure points to ensure that skills interventions can be as responsive as possible. We also wish to initiate discussions about current approaches to providing work experience, work placement and industry placement opportunities with a view to challenging and breaking down barriers, securing more opportunities for young people to benefit from this crucial preparation for work activity.
You must be able to demonstrate and evidence a knowledge and understanding of apprenticeships and other education and skills programmes, as well as an understanding of the needs and issues facing the NHS and the wider Health and Social Care Sector. Excellent interpersonal skills, to be able to work well with colleagues across the NHS and with cross-sector partners, are essential.
You must have the ability to effectively use all aspects of Microsoft Office, communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, meet deadlines and prioritise own workloads.
