Job Description:

Economic Analyst – £48,810 to £58,278

The Liverpool City Region (“LCR”) is one of only a few UK city regions to have secured a devolution agreement with Government, meaning decision-making and resources on certain key priorities are managed locally.

The LCR Combined Authority has established a Strategic Investment Fund (“SIF”) to administer its devolved funding alongside other local and national funding sources. We expect to invest more than £100m a year in economic development activities. We are also assembling projects like a regional fibre loop and a major tidal energy scheme, designed to transform our economy and contribute to UK PLC’s resilience.

We are looking for an economic analyst in a role that combines economic appraisal of SIF investment propositions and economic research to underpin our policy and investment decisions.  Working with both the Investment, and the Research, Evidence and Intelligence Teams, you will need experience in economic appraisal, impact assessment, evaluation or policy-making and sound working knowledge of public appraisal methods, including HM Treasury’s Green Book.  You will have experience of delivering reports on proposed projects to senior stakeholders, and an ability to analyse and interpret complex data and to use judgment in assessing a project’s viability. We are looking for a self-starting, highly motivated candidate with a passion to make a difference at work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of an exciting economy and part of the LCR Combined Authority as it embarks on the next stage of its journey.
