Job Description:

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority was created in 2014 and became a Mayoral Combined Authority in 2017. It is involved in exciting regional projects such as Tidal energy, digital connectivity, new trains, supporting individuals and families into work, education, and accommodation and significant transport projects including bus reform.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Democratic Services Manager to join the Democratic Services Team. This role represents a great opportunity to work within a friendly and hardworking team which is at the heart of the decision making of the Combined Authority.

The successful candidate will manage and deploy the team to provide high quality meetings support to the Combined Authority and its Committees, Merseytravel, Key Partnerships, Portfolio Holders, Delivery and Investment Boards. The successful applicant and their team support the decision-making processes within the Combined Authority, working in accordance with legislation and the Combined Authority’s Constitution. You will work closely with the Metro Mayor, Chief Executive, Directors and Monitoring Officer to secure the delivery of a high-quality service. You will be managed by the Deputy Monitoring Officer.

Our meetings are held during the day.

We work a 35-hour week with flexible hours and hybrid working, which allows you the flexibility to start and end your working day at various times and location provided that the needs of the service are met.

The successful candidate would be able to take advantage of a free all modes travel pass within the Merseyside area together with a spouse off peak travel pass.

We receive 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (plus 5 more days after 5 years of service) as well as good maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave.

Finally, being a public sector organisation, you are able to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
