Thousands of vacancies on offer at Support and Employment Fair
for former Thomas Cook and supply chain employees

  • On Thursday 3 October, public and private sector partners will host an employment fair at Manchester Airport to support former Thomas Cook and supply chain employees from across Greater Manchester and the North West. The event will bring together dozens of organisations, including Manchester Airports Group, Jet2, Swissport, Booking.com, Whitbread, RAC and the NHS, who together have in the region of 5,000 vacancies.
  • This event will also be open to former Thomas Cook staff from Liverpool not least as the airlines using Liverpool John Lennon Airport have the same team management as Manchester, any current or future vacancies available and their guidance should be provided at the Manchester Airport .
  • A rolling programme of support briefings will also be available, with advisors on hand to direct people to relevant sources of information, advice and guidance about work, skills and training opportunities; how to claim redundancy payments, benefits; and wider wellbeing support.

All Employees have been told to contact their local JCP. Jobcentre Plus will be able to offer 1-2-1 or group support as appropriate, and also signpost to a number of jobs fairs and other support options that are available. You can call   Jobcentre Plus on 0800 055 6688

The National Careers Service are working with Jobcentre Plus locally to provide support advice and guidance to those affected and are holding group sessions for staff.  The National Careers Service number is 0800 100 900

Alix Partners have been appointed to support the official receiver. They have set up a number of avenues for Thomas Cook staff to get in touch and support each other including a Facebook Site and Linked In page which can be accessed here

KPMG have also established a helpline number on 0800 923 5001 and a dedicated email address at [email protected] to provide support and assistance to employees who have been made redundant.
