What are the benefits of the Combined Authority?
Working closely together across our local authorities means that we can improve our communities and make our city region somewhere we can all be proud of.
We have already seen the benefits that our work has produced, having invested £400 million in schemes to:
- Create jobs and apprenticeships
- Make it easier to travel in and around the city region
- Renovate and improve schools and colleges
- Help long-term unemployed families back into work
- Support cultural events, such as the return of the Giants
