Liverpool-born international mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnston joins the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for their only outdoor performance this year as part of Wirral’s Borough of Culture celebrations!
The Orchestra will take to the stage in Birkenhead Park at 7.30pm on Saturday 7 September 2019 to perform a mesmerising programme of popular classics, show tunes and exciting film standards, under the baton of conductor, Richard Balcombe.
It’s set to be a highlight of Wirral’s Borough of Culture year and is part of an incredible series of exciting events in Birkenhead Park – from the gastronomic excellence of the Wirral Food & Drink Festival taking place over the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September to the Tour of Britain stage on Wednesday 11 September.
The Borough of Culture initiative was introduced by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and is designed to encourage cultural activities across the region.
