National Apprenticeship week continues

It’s the 13th National Apprenticeship Week and the Apprenticeship Support team will be on hand throughout the week to provide valuable advice and guidance at various events across the Liverpool City Region.

Employers, apprentices and communities will be shining a spotlight on all the apprenticeships available in our area so that employers, parents, teachers and students can find out more about what apprenticeships have to offer.

This year’s theme is ‘Look Beyond’ is celebrating the diversity in apprenticeships today.

Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region said:

“An apprenticeship helped me to make the unlikely journey from bricklayer to Parliament, and now to Mayor of the region I love. I want to do everything in my power to ensure that our young people are able to have the same opportunities to succeed that I was so fortunate to have.

Since I was elected, we’ve created over 5,500 apprenticeships, halved the cost of bus and rail travel for apprenticeships, and launched the country’s first UCAS-style apprenticeship portal to make it easier for people to find the opportunities they want.

I hope that this year’s National Apprenticeship Week encourages more of our young people to consider an apprenticeship – it might be the best decision they ever make!”

www.be-more.info was built in consultation with current and prospective apprentices and is part of the Combined Authority’s plans to ensure that the city region develops the skills that its economy needs.

The Apprenticeship Support by Be-more team has a busy schedule planned for Apprenticeship week, you can find out more about events taking place here.
