Hospitality and Leisure Support Grants

The Combined Authority has developed several Hospitality and Leisure Support Grant Schemes, including Local Business Support Grants, that have been focused on supporting the retention of jobs in the sector during periods of difficult trading. These were approved at the 6th November meeting of the Combined Authority. The Combined Authority’s approach has been a collaborative one, working closely with Local Authorities’ Advisory Groups. The Combined Authority and Local Authorities have implemented these schemes in accordance with the Additional Restrictions Grant guidance issued by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The amount of funding available has not always been able to meet the demand from businesses, meaning that not all businesses have been successful. Therefore, in determining the eligibility criteria, the CA and Local Authorities have sought to balance the number of businesses they can support within the priority areas and the overall amount of money that is available.

Local Business Support Grants

All the current Local Business Support Grant schemes are now closed and Local Authorities are working hard to process all the applications received. If you have any questions about your application, please contact your Local Authority directly.

If you are a taxi driver, additional funding is available, please visit your local authority – Halton, Knowsley,Liverpool, Sefton and St Helens and Wirral – for more information. Please note this scheme closes on 14 May 2021.

LCR Care Providers Grant

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the Liverpool City Region’s childcare and care home businesses including a fall in demand alongside increased costs related to creating Covid-safe environments. As a direct response to the challenges these businesses are facing, a new fund, the LCR Care Providers Grant, has been created by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and administered by each of the six local authorities that form the Combined Authority.

Please visit your local authority – Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton and St Helens and Wirral for more information, guidance and how to apply.

The LCR Care Providers Grant closes on 18th May. Please note, due to the volume of applications expected, it may take several weeks to consider applications and for applicants to receive a decision. An application made during the ‘grant application window’ does not guarantee approval for payment.  Completed applications will be appraised in order of receipt by the Local Authority.
