The project portfolio is ground breaking for the city region and all members of the team have a role in helping us to continue
to build on these achievements to accelerate growth and success for our city region.

Here’s a snapshot of some of the projects and there are lots more to come.

The Liverpool City Region has secured £172.5 million in capital grant from the Transforming Cities Fund for local transport investment over a 5-year period. The aim of the fund is to support programmes of interlinking interventions which will transform sustainable transport connectivity across the region. The funding forms part of the wider Strategic Investment Fund.

We could become a world leader in tidal power. By harnessing the tidal power of the river Mersey and Liverpool Bay, this ambitious, multi-billion pound project has the potential to generate up to four times the energy of all the wind turbines in Liverpool Bay.  This would be enough to power up to a million homes, 500 football stadiums, or send an electric train around the world 3554 times. It could also deliver thousands of jobs for local people in its construction and well into the future.

We are driving a digital revolution that aims to make us the most digitally connected City Region in the UK. Our overall vision is for the Liverpool City Region to deliver transformational, inclusive economic growth and this will require faster, more reliable and more resilient digital connectivity.
