North Liverpool Brewery’s glass half full in face of Covid
Cheers! Homegrown Collective partners with Combined Authority to plan a greener future and ‘great beer.
An innovative carbon-conscious business in North Liverpool is the toast of its community.
Homegrown Collective is a brewing company run by locals in Anfield and Everton, and also teaches people to brew ‘great beer.’
The emphasis is on sustainability with ale delivered by bike and their new brewery premises earmarked for solar panels with excess heat from the manufacturing process used to heat nearby homes.
“Plans for our new site in Stanley Park were put on hold because of Covid,’’ said Homegrown’s Samantha Jones.
‘’But the help from the Combined Authority will help us to move forward and get going again.
‘We need to take ownership of our community. It needs to be a circular economy. Everything we want to do is really to support people to have a good life.
‘’That Combined Authority investment doesn’t just keep us afloat, it keeps us safe and supported.”
We’ll all drink to that!
