The intention of the fund is “to support people and communities in need across the UK. It will invest in skills, communities, businesses, and by supporting people into employment.”
This latest support scheme will specifically support small or medium-sized businesses, with between 10 and 249 employees.
By the end of June 2021, more than £44 million in emergency funding had been distributed to more than 4000 businesses across the city region, through a number of schemes.
The new Local Business Support Grants, of between £3,750 and £13,500 per business, are aimed at businesses who have not yet accessed funding from the Liverpool City Region.
A further £2m fund, established by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to enable its six local authorities to contribute to the costs of taxi licences, has been announced.
